Noel DaCosta

The British born singer and performer known as Noel DaCosta has been blessing various stages, venues and festivals around the United Kingdom.

Every inch the British soul icon Noel developed his style at an early age growing up in a musical household.  Born, Noel (Jr) DaCosta Johnson.  Noel has always had a passion for music and was drawn into the music world as it gave him a window of expression.Added to his talent Noel is a gifted composer and has written for a number of artists around the country.  His musical and lyrical influence are derived from his own life story such as love, and sorrow, however Noel likes to sing about world issues and social injustices.

 

Over the years Noel has been headhunted to compose and sing a variety of Radio jingles adding his flavour to Radio DJ’s programs.

 

Inspired by the early Motown generation, the likes of the late Luther Vandross and Michael Jackson, Noel has a deep, smooth, silky voice and his versatility allows him to sing numerous genres of music such as Pop, Jazz, Reggae, House, RnB and Soul.

 

His love of performances and ambitions has enabled him to work as a lead singer with several bands for example “The Portugal Beat Company” a seven-piece band which specialised in live “House Music” Collectively they performed at numerous hot spots famed for House music, which included Dust Bar, Turnmills, Woodys and Ministry of Sound.

 

Under his previous stagename JayR he is featured on the TwiceAsNice Compilation Album of 2006 – “The Ultimate Urban Experience” under Universal Music. He has shared the stage

with British Music Icons Kele-Le Roc, Egypt, Loose Ends, Sway, British Reggae singer Don Campbell and Cassandra London to name a few.  Has performed at festivals such as Nottinghill Carnival, Brixton and Tottenham Carnival showing his versatility by performing his House/Dance Track “Love Is The House” released by Independent Label, Fear Unknown Records.

 

In 2015 Noel released his first EP The Soul Man from the Endz independently via various online platformsand continues to reap the rewards of sales as well as performing the tracks in and around the UK.

 

Noel is now working behind the scenes on some special projects to be unleashed to the public in the near future. So keep watching.
